PAR ORTHODONTIC LABORATORY
OFFERS A VARIETY OF
POSITIONER AND MOUTHGUARD MATERIALS

IMPAK - this completely transparent thermo-elastic acrylic positioner is extremely hard at room temperature, but softens at body temperature. During initial wearing, it is necessary to place the appliance in hot tap water to soften before seating; however, after most corrections have been achieved, this procedure is no longer necessary. An IMPAK positioner softened in hot water is very flexible; however, as it cools, the appliance contracts and tightly grips the teeth - an excellent advantage for rotating or tipping teeth. We recommend a short or mini-trim flange height for comfort.

FLEXICLEAR - this crystal-clear positioner has no odor or taste, and has esthetic appeal which aids in patient cooperation. This transparency also permits easy inspection of tooth placement in the appliance.

FLEXICLEAR is available in three degrees of elasticity:

FLEXICLEAR is also available in colors as well as flavors:

FLEXICLEAR can distort when exposed to extreme heat. Therefore, it should not be stored near heat or in direct sunlight.

A FLEXICLEAR should be cleansed in cool water (not hot), using toothpaste or cleansing powder. It should not be soaked in concentrated mouthwash or other disinfectants for extended periods of time, as the material will absorb the color of the solution and can be weakened, causing deterioration.

SILICONE - this semi-transparent material is our softest and most elastic - ideal for cases requiring more space closure as it easily stretches over the arch. Very comfortable - promotes excellent patient cooperation.

AVAILABLE OPTIONS FOR POSITIONERS...

PAR CLASPS - insure proper Placement and Retention. They assist the patient in seating the appliance and provide better retention, particularly during night-time wear. Either ball or looped clasps are available.

PAR SOCKET LINERS - can be incorporated into the individual sockets of anterior teeth to provide extra force for achieving rotations, tipping, or the depressing of incisor crowns. Socket Liners are fabricated from flat stainless steel wire.

AIR HOLES - improve patient cooperation. They should be requested if the patient has difficulty breathing through the nose or trouble swallowing when the positioner is worn. We normally provide three holes, approximately 2mm in diameter - larger on request.
